Pinner Local History Society – Pinner’s World War I VAD Hospital and its Nurses

During the First World War, Pinner people funded and ran a hospital for wounded soldiers. Administration, nursing and domestic support were almost exclusively carried out by local women volunteers, often from affluent households, while supplies were often provided by Pinner tradespeople. Thamar will discuss how this was organised and tell us about those involved.
