Pinner Music Festival – Seminar – CANCELLED

8 June 2020 @ 13:15 - 14:15

It is with profound regret that we have to announce the cancellation of this June’s Pinner Music Festival.

This is due to the coronavirus epidemic and the resulting government guidance, which very substantially impact upon our audience and volunteers.

Please note that this seminar will take place in Pinner Parish Church Hall.

To introduce the 55th Pinner Music Festival, we will gain insider perspectives on works that feature, in a discussion guided by BBC Radio 3’s Petroc Trelawny.

Among his guests will be Robin Bigwood, who will tell us about the amazing synthesizers in his ensemble The Art of Moog and how they are re-presenting some of Bach’s music. Pianist Maki Sekiya will give an account of her career and her recital of Beethoven & Mussorgsky. Opera Anywhere Director Katie Blackwell will give us the background to how she has set Puccini’s Sister Angelica.

Petroc Trelawny is one of the best-known voices on BBC Radio Three, presenting the acclaimed Breakfast programme. Last year was his 21st season introducing BBC Proms on radio & TV. A proud Cornishman, in his early career he broadcast in Hong Kong and was part of the launch team for Classic FM & London News Radio. He is President of the Lennox Berkeley Society, Luton Music, Three Spires Singers (Truro) & Trustee of BZAM, supporting the Zimbabwe Academy of Music (Bulawayo).
