A statement from Harrow Council confirms that the libraries in the borough will remain open as usual despite being run under contract by Carillion:
“Information about Harrow’s Libraries
Harrow libraries are open and it is business as usual, following the announcements by Carillion.
We are engaging Carillion, working alongside our neighbouring local authorities, and we are confident we will ensure continuity in Harrow’s library services for staff and residents.
The refurbishment of Kenton Library is unaffected and the library is still on schedule to re-open on Thursday 1 March 2018.”
