Emma, Nelson: Life & Family

12:30PM meet and greet plus buffet lunch, Verden Gallery on the first-floor of West House (the former home of Emma & Nelson’s grandson Nelson Ward). 

Short talks: Beyond Gérin: Emma & Nelson’s descendants in Pinner by Lily Style (descendant & Emma Hamilton Society Chair) and Horatia’s Locations in Pinner by a member of Pinner Local History Society. 

1:30PM  presentation of new, detailed analysis of Emma Hamilton’s handwriting by Martin Hastings, British Academy of Graphology who will also reference his findings about Nelson.

2:30PM walk to Elmdene, where Horatia lived, then on to Paines Lane Cemetery to lay a bouquet on her grave.

4PM Queen’s Head pub, where according to biographer Winifred Gérin, Horatia’s daughter Eleanor Philippa Ward was taken after a cart horse fatally kicked her in 1872 (bar purchases optional and not included in the ticket price).
